Welcome to our unit on the fantastic fantasy fiction book, The Borrower's by Mary Norton. This book is a classic story that you'll all enjoy, as well as our fun activities planned throughout your reading. Here's a quick guide to information for you and your at home learning support, a.k.a adults in your lives!
Overview of the unit
This learning unit is part of our literacy block with integrated subject areas of science and technology. You'll be required to maintain your daily reading record and nightly assigned reading to be prepared to engage in our daily discussions and activities.
Unit Structure
Students are required to log into their computers and engage in the content and activities listed in this website during the literacy block time frame. The Literacy Block is Monday through Friday from 9:00 -11:00. While the content can be completed asynchronously, it is required that you're working on these activities during this time in order for the discussion boards and activities to have a collaborative element. Since this is also considered a blended school environment, students will engage in activities to support their learning during the Literacy block time on Friday, in person at our physical school. I also will be reaching out to all students during the Literacy block time frame throughout the week by phone and video call to check in with your progress. Please remember that I'm always available during this time to call, text, or video chat!
